About Ollie
At the age of eleven, while under the bedcovers reading a paperback by flashlight, Ollie decided that she ultimately would become a writer. However, being from a small community in Washington state, she felt the need for experience with diverse people and different life experiences. So, while in community college, she began her corporate career with a large government agency. Over the decades, she eventually accepted positions with three major organizations, including a multi-national training and consulting firm, which led to conducting career transition and leadership workshops throughout the United States. This responsibility allowed her to interact with thousands of people. Then, utilizing her leadership and communication skills, she was promoted to the executive level at the international firm and served as one of six regional general managers for sales and operations, reporting to the president. Simultaneously, Ollie also started a non-profit organization awarding scholarships to college-bound students and worked in political organizations, while holding a regular job.
When the company executives sold the organization to its competitor, she left the corporate world to pursue her passion for writing novels. Ollie has written women’s fiction novels--WHEN IT RAINS and KARENA’S DILEMMA. They are under review for publication. She also hosts the podcast WHEN IT RAINS, where she shares chapters from the book of the same name. She has authored three self-help books on career transition, published with reputable publishers—101 GREAT ANSWERS TO THE TOUGHEST JOB SEARCH PROBLEMS, CAREER SUCCESS IS COLORBLIND, and THE COLORBLIND CAREER. The last two are available in bookstores and on Amazon.
